The staircase has 29 steps, with handrails on both sides.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Accessible entrance (Ainonkatu 3)<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An accessible entrance is located at the back of Kunsthalle Helsinki. It can be found at the very end of the courtyard, beside large glass windows.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A buzzer for the ticket desk is located near the door. Ring the buzzer to alert our staff, who will unlock the door.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>If you arrive unassisted, please note that the door is quite heavy. Our staff will readily assist with the door if needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The door at the accessible entrance is 80 cm wide, but can be opened up to 130 cm. The entrance has a gentle 4 cm ramp and a 1.5 cm high threshold.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>An additional metal ramp is available in the lobby to assist with entry at the door.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The accessible entrance leads to the lift lobby. The lift will take you from the ground floor to the exhibition spaces on the first floor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Once you reach the exhibition, your companion can collect the tickets. Our staff can also assist with ticket purchases if necessary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>When leaving the exhibition via the accessible entrance, you can open the door by pressing the handle down or by pressing the grey door activator on the wall next to the lift, marked \u201cUlos\u201d (Exit).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Arrival and parking<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kunsthalle Helsinki does not have dedicated parking spaces.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>If you arrive by taxi or minibus, the driver can stop in front of one of our entrances.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Parking is not allowed in the rear courtyard.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The building also houses the Finnj\u00e4vel restaurant, so access to the rear courtyard from Ainonkatu may occasionally be temporarily blocked, for example, due to deliveries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Interiors<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Ticket desk<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To reach the ticket desk from the Nervanderinkatu entrance, you need to climb a few shallow steps and walk through a vestibule with a couple of heavy doors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The height of the ticket desk is 115 cm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The ticket lobby also has coat racks and lockers for storing your belongings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Kioski museum shop<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>From the ticket lobby, you can access our museum shop, called Kioski.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>To reach Kioski, you need to climb four high steps. There is a handrail on the left side of the steps.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The doorway to Kioski has a 2 cm high threshold, but the door is always open.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Exhibition spaces<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Kunsthalle Helsinki exhibition spaces are fully accessible. Most doorways in the exhibition are over 140 cm wide, with the narrowest being 119 cm wide.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>There are no thresholds in the exhibition spaces.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>In some exhibitions, certain pathways or the viewing route may need to be restricted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Some exhibitions may include loud noises or flashing lights.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Lift<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The lift is accessible via the accessible entrance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The lift will take you from the ground floor to the first floor, where the exhibition is located.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The lift has a weight limit of 2000 kg.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Facilities and Assistance<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Public Toilets<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The public toilets are located in the ticket lobby. The toilet doors have a 2 cm threshold.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The public toilets are divided into male and female facilities, as the male one contains a protected historical urinal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Both public toilets are equipped with a children\u2019s potty.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Accessible toilet<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kunsthalle Helsinki\u2019s accessible toilet is located in the Finnj\u00e4vel restaurant in the same building. It can be accessed from the accessible entrance lobby through two glass doors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The doors can be unlocked by pressing the grey door activators on the wall. The glass doors are 90 cm wide and have a 2 cm threshold.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>If you arrive unassisted, we recommend asking our staff for help with the doors, as they are heavy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The door to the accessible toilet is 90 cm wide. The toilet has space on both sides of the toilet seat, but the turning space is limited to an area measuring approximately 120 cm x 120 cm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The sink is 77 cm high.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The accessible toilet is equipped with an alarm cord, which can be used to call for assistance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The accessible toilet also has a changing table and a potty.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Companions and guide\/assistance dogs<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Companions receive free admission to Kunsthalle Helsinki.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Guide and assistance dogs are welcome at Kunsthalle Helsinki.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Loanable aids<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kunsthalle Helsinki has one foldable wheelchair available for loan during your visit, upon request from the staff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Foldable stools are also available for use on exhibition visits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Kunsthalle Helsinki is a nearly one-hundred-year-old stone building, meaning that sounds may echo significantly, especially on busy days. Earplugs are available upon request from our staff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>To protect the original wooden floors in the Kunsthalle Helsinki exhibition rooms, shoes with ice\/snow grip spikes are not allowed. Move calmly in the exhibition space: running is not permitted, even if you find something exciting!<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s protect the artworks together: toys are not allowed in the exhibition space. Eating and drinking are also prohibited. Teachers accompanying a school group also have free admission.<\/p>\n<p>Upon arrival, please check in with the ticket desk staff. If your group has booked a guided tour or workshop, the guide will meet you in the ticket hall.<\/p>\n<p>Coats, large backpacks, umbrellas, and other belongings should be left in the cloakroom or in the lockable lockers found in the lobby.<\/p>\n<p>Please go through the key guidelines with your students: Do not touch the artworks unless specifically allowed. Observe artworks from a slight distance. The Salonki takes visitors on an experiential voyage through Finnish traditions and stories. The <i>Menu Finnj\u00e4vel<\/i> tv show on MTV3 follows the planning of the current menu, its ingredients and the lovely people our chefs Tommi Tuominen and Henkka got to meet.
