EGS (b. 1974) is one of the best-known Finnish graffiti artists worldwide. His work can be seen across cityscapes in dozens of different countries. In recent years he has widened his artistic scope to embrace more traditional art forms. The exhibits range from wall paintings to glass sculptures, and from works in ink to wooden installations.
EGS includes his three initials in all his work, re-shaping them into new forms and arrangements to the point of unrecognisability. By repeating these letters he not only enacts the fundamental calligraphic nature of graffiti, but also constructs his own lifelong travel journal: to the artist himself each individual work is a part of a complete whole that has spread to five continents and more than 50 countries over 30 years.
The exhibition is produced by the Finnish Art Society.
