Kunsthalle Helsinki inaugurates its new exhibition series showcasing private art collections with that of the Norwegian businessman Erling Neby. The collector’s personality is reflected by the distinctive and uncompromising choices he makes in building his collection. Featuring such names as Josef Albers, Olle Bærtling and Arne Malmedal, the Erling Neby Collection is one of the most significant collections of concrete art in the world. Finnish artists included in it are Paul Osipow and Lars G. Nordström. Erling Neby made his first purchases of art in the 1970s in Paris, works by Jean Dewasne and Victor Vasarely.
On Saturday 14 March at 2 pm, Hi-Fi connoisseur and businessman Erling Neby will talk about his collection and about art collecting. Come to the Kunsthalle to learn about how Neby builds his collection and what the criteria behind his choices are (in English).
