Katriina Haikala Social Portrait

Sunday 16.12. at 11–17

Social Portrait is a collective art project, where artist Katriina Haikala draws 1000 portraits of individuals who identify themselves as women. Social Portrait embraces diversity and intimate encounters where the models are seen and accepted as they are. The act of drawing is performative, intensive and intimate, as Haikala draws portraits without looking at the paper, concentrating fully on the model and transferring what she sees into the paper.

The performative portraiture forms part of the jubilee programme of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia.
