Rotten Fruit is Siiri Haarla’s performance about the making of a painting, people and illusions. The performance deconstructs the power structures of words, images and significations by breaking down the art object to pieces on stage. The object and subject are in dialogue questioning each other’s categories. Haarla is a Helsinki-based artist who jokes about serious matters and gets enthusiastic about visual wordplay.
