Niki de Saint Phalle

20.8. - 20.11.2016

“I decided early to become a heroine. Who would I be? George Sand? Joan of Arc? Napoleon in drag? Whatever I decided to do, I wanted it to be difficult, exciting, grand.”

Dancing women, extravagant sculpture parks and wild shooting – Niki de Saint Phalle’s (1930–2002) world is vibrant and humorous, with dark tones. Her radical way of making art and the social message of her work speak directly to our time as well. Kunsthalle’s exhibition presents a large selection of the artist’s iconic work: sculptures full of joie de vivre and curious collages.

The exhibition is a part of Helsinki Festival.
