Artist talk: A I S T I T / coming to our senses

FRI 20.8. 18.30

The A I S T I T / coming to our senses contemporary art exhibition consists of works where embodiment, intimacy, vulnerability and interdependency are examined to collectively ask: How to be in touch with others? The exhibition at Kunsthalle Helsinki is part of a larger contemporary art programme produced by the Finnish Cultural Institute for the Benelux, the Finnish Institute in the UK and Ireland, the Finnish Institute in France, and the Finnish Institute in Germany. The programme is curated by choreographer, curator Satu Herrala and visual artist Hans Rosenström, and takes place in Paris, London, Berlin, Helsinki and Ghent in 2021–2022.

In this event, we discuss the relation between human beings and other species, the sadness that comes with the brokenness of these relations as well as the empathy between and within different species.

Artists present: Terike Haapoja, Dominique Knowles and Kati Roover. The discussion is moderated by philosopher Elisa Aaltola.

The event is in English, duration about 75 minutes.
No entrance fee.
Please note that due to the current restrictions, there are only a limited number of places, which is why the places will be filled in the order of registration.
