Kunsthalle Helsinki’s holiday season weekender

Saturday and Sunday 7-8 December, 1-5pm

Come by to create the holiday of your dreams!

Kunsthalle Helsinki is preparing for the holiday season with activities for the whole family. The gift wrapping service decorates little presents with artist-made wrappings, and the holiday workshops teach you how to create your own wreaths and cards from surprising materials. A musical trio brimming with Christmas spirit will give a concert and the audience is invited to sing along to carols. A guided tour takes visitors around the exhibition and best of holiday selection awaits at the Kiosk shop.

Gift wrapping service and workshop

Wrap your gifts in soulful style! The workshops expand the idea of gift wrapping and allow for creative flexibility. The supplies are gathered from fields, backyards and flea markets. The gift wrapping workshop explores whether a gift can take the form of a composition, construction or a collection. The workshop is led by artists Liina Kuittinen, Sara Kovamäki and Salla Valle, who will help to envision and execute creative holiday gifts.

Christmas trio and sing-along at 1:30pm and 2:30pm

Nora Akselin, Aino Kovanen and Matleena Kohonen’s trio delivers Christmas cheer with their clarinet, flute, kantele and harmony singing. The three diverse musicians will bring to the Kunsthalle a tender, acoustic holiday spirit by combining beloved Christmas classics with improvised moods and folk influences. The trio will also invite listeners to join in with the singing, and in the other artistic experiences of the weekend.

Christmas offers at Kioski

The Kioski gift shop is decked out in holiday style. Throughout the weekend, all normal price books are discounted at -20%. Make use of the special offers and pick up unique gifts. You can have the books wrapped at the gift wrapping service or create your own packaging at the workshop from recycled materials.

Finnjävel Café

The Finnjävel Café will serve savoury and sweet treats baked by the restaurant’s very own baker, along with hot apple glögi, a version of the Finnish Christmas drink of choice in the downstairs.

We wish you warmly welcome!
